If you add up all the military deaths of the 20th and 21st centuries including World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, the Iraq War and the War in Afghanistan, that is only 60% of the number of people who die every year from diet-related disease.
Keep eating those vegetables!

ReplyDeleteSure, check out the CDC "Health" report. It discusses tons of different stats on health in the US each year. I compiled the above statistic from the 2008 report. The 2009 report is now available and reports slightly lower death tolls for 2009 but the percentage still hovers between 60 and 65%.
